Yukizasa Azukina Seedling - Full Nekoposu
These are Azukina seedlings. The root sizes vary, but many are thick. They can be eaten as wild vegetables, such as in tempura, blanched dishes, and miso soup.
Most of the leaves have been cut off. We will include the roots and pack them full in a Nekoposu shipping box. We cannot be responsible for any damage that occurs.
We will ship them with a light misting of water on the roots. (^^) They will be shipped from Hokkaido. We do not recommend this for customers in distant areas, as we cannot guarantee against damage from heat or humidity during transit.
Whether for eating or ornamental purposes, they will be ready next year.
If you cut a large root in half and plant it, two sprouts will emerge in the spring.
When Yuki-zasa leaves open, they develop small, grape-like green buds and bloom with small, white flowers. The flowers are small and numerous, making them very cute. In autumn, they develop red berries, which are also very charming.
They are lovely as shade garden flowers or as a spring wild vegetable to enjoy.
*They are called Azukina because they smell like adzuki beans when boiled. They are a wild vegetable with no bitterness and a sweet, firm texture.
As these are natural items, there will be some variation in size.
They are dug up from the ground and will be shipped with soil attached. Please only purchase if you understand that insects may be present.
