Grows in the gap between a block wall and a parking lot, alongside Mondo Grass.
No pesticides or herbicides have ever been used.
Every year, a flower stalk (a 2cm brown star-shaped bud) appears, and thread-like leaves sprout from self-seeding.
By late May, the thin, small bulb leaves have all withered.
Only the parent plant with the flower stalk is still growing green.
