Wild Yam Buds 30g Otaheite Gooseberry It's planting time!!
Now is the perfect time to plant!
These are mukago (bulblets) of Okawakame (Okinawa spinach).
30 grams.
The items sent will differ in shape from the photos.
As they are mostly large, the quantity will be fewer.
They sprout easily just by burying them in the soil.
I've given them to friends in this state, and no one has failed to grow them.
They are growing vigorously and being enjoyed!
The photos show Okawakame from my home last autumn.
Unnan Hyakuyaku (Okawakame) is a perennial vine of the Basellaceae family.
In Japan, it is known as a vegetable from Okinawa (or southern regions), and also has the alias Okawakame (hill seaweed).
It contains abundant minerals, and not only the leaves but also the stems and roots are edible. It's also perfect for home gardens as there are almost no worries about diseases or pests, making it hassle-free. It's also great for windows as a green curtain, or like my home, you can create an arch and have cute flowers blooming all over in autumn, as shown in the photo.
Last year, it remained green in Yokohama until November, and unlike bitter melon, its harvest period is long.
In my home, we have an unlimited supply of leafy green vegetables every year! :)
