Gourd Seeds (20 seeds)
Harvested in 2025
Gourd seeds
These are seeds from gourds grown naturally without pesticides or fertilizers.
Gourds are considered quite difficult to germinate.
It's best to sow them around May when it gets considerably warmer.
While there are various opinions,
soaking gourd seeds in water before sowing can actually be counterproductive and may significantly delay germination.
There's a knack to root development,
such as slightly peeling the outer layer of the seed.
Please feel free to try various methods.
Compared to other seeds,
they tend to take a little longer to germinate and root.
I grow gourds as a hobby.
Without pinching or other interventions, allowing them to grow naturally,
I produced small gourds around 10 cm in size. They seem to be slightly larger than Sen'nari gourds and slightly smaller than Hyakuhari gourds.
I suspect that if you were to concentrate nutrients into a single fruit, you could grow larger ones.
They have been dried as is, without rotting, so the seeds are undamaged.
We had a bountiful harvest in 2025, producing many gourds.
You can also enjoy them as a green curtain. They are also edible.
Includes slightly more than 20 seeds.
Will be shipped via 4th class mail.
Thank you for your consideration.
