2 types of glasses: Merinis Savannah and Silver Fox

These are seedlings of Melinis savanniana (right) and Pennisetum villosum (left), grown for one year from seed.
Melinis savanniana (Ruby Grass) is a compact grass, 30-40 cm tall, with dense, bluish-green, slender leaves. From summer to late autumn, red to pink flower spikes emerge. The parent plant (shown in the second image) has produced many spikes.
Pennisetum villosum (Feathertop) produces fluffy white flower spikes.
Both are resistant to heat and drought and can overwinter outdoors except in cold regions. In winter, the above-ground parts will die back, so if you cut them near the base, new shoots will emerge in spring.
