?? Edible Urui - 3 Small Seedling Plants
?? These are small seedlings that sprouted last spring, but they have grown quite a bit.
When fully grown, they become large Urui plants exceeding 1 meter in height, with a remarkable presence.
I previously purchased them as edible Urui seedlings.
These are different from the *Ooba Giboshi* (large-leaved hosta) that grows wild in the mountains.
The variety is likely Tenryu.
It is a very strong plant with excellent cold and heat resistance.
※ This variety is large and has thick stems.
The young shoots and stems in early spring have a slight sliminess and no bitterness, making them suitable for any dish such as stir-fries, blanched dishes, or dressed with vinegar and miso.
Even slightly tougher stems are delicious when you peel off the skin, blanch them, and stir-fry them!
?? As this is a large hosta, it can also be used as an ornamental plant to accent your garden.
Ornamental hostas are not suitable for consumption, but this one can be used for both edible and ornamental purposes, making it a highly recommended plant!
It is one of the few vegetables that can be grown in the shade.
※ We are sending these to those who want to grow from small seedlings.
They can also be grown in planters or pots.
※ Like hostas, they are perennial plants that lose their leaves in winter, so the upper part will disappear during winter.
■ Shipping
The plants will be removed from their pots, soil will be added, and they will be shipped via the fast Nekoposu service.
