★Preservative-Treated Dead Insects for Specimens: *Megasoma elephas* (Male & Female), from Argentina, F2
★Preservative Treated. After death, dirt and mites were removed with hot water, the legs and genitalia were easily arranged, ethyl acetate was injected abundantly into the body with a syringe, and then naturally dried in a well-ventilated shade for about 15 years. This specimen has had most of its odor removed.
Golofa pelagon F2
This is a dead specimen of the Pelagon Rhinoceros Beetle. It is from Argentina and is about 40mm in size. Measurements were taken with calipers, but please understand that there may be some errors. It is difficult to measure accurately due to body stiffness, so please refer to the photo with the ruler. The width of the ruler is 15mm. It has been naturally dried for over 15 years, so most of the odor has been removed. Although the genitalia were intact as shown in the photo, I accidentally broke off the genitalia of the right front leg while taking measurements repeatedly. The broken parts are placed in a small bag and included in the same container. This species is a small rhinoceros beetle but has magnificent horns. About 30 years ago, this species was relatively easy to obtain, but since then, the Tatezuno (horned) family has increasingly been designated as pests and banned from import. The female, slightly less than 40mm, is not perfect but will be included as a bonus. Females often break their genitalia when they burrow into the soil for egg-laying.
How about making a specimen with your children? There are many tutorials on YouTube for making specimens, so please refer to them.
The item will be carefully packed in a container with tissue paper cushioning. However, we cannot be held responsible for any breakage of genitalia due to impact during transport, so please understand this beforehand. Also, please be careful when removing the specimen from the container, as the leg claws can catch on the tissue paper and cause the genitalia to break off. By the way, when making a specimen, it is best to attach detached antennae and legs with wood glue or instant adhesive.
Immediate purchase without comments is welcome.
