Evergreen Conifer - Silver Star

Conifers are a general term for evergreen coniferous trees that bear round fruits.
Therefore, trees native to Japan such as Sugi (Japanese Cedar) and Hinoki Cypress are also considered conifers.
However, generally, ornamental varieties developed in Europe and North America are referred to as conifers.

Conifers are said to be relatively easy to maintain their shape, and are often used as garden trees and hedges.
Also, due to the wide variety of species, they are sometimes used for wreaths during the Christmas season.

Silver Star is a relatively common variety, and its leaves have a waxy coating, giving them a bluish-green appearance.
