Wooden cylindrical rice keeper, tub, antique, old tool, with defects

This is a wooden cylindrical *ohitsu* (rice container) that has been stored at home for a long time. There is one chip on the top.
When I filled it with water, it leaked slowly...
It cannot hold water.
Both the diameter and height are approximately 22cm.

How about using it as a planter with a rustic charm?
