British Antique Nathan Cupboard/Cabinet (94-48)
A cabinet (nightstand) made by Nathan, found in the English countryside.
1970s. Teak wood.
Nathan's company history dates back to 1916, when Barnett Nathan, originally from Russia, founded a handmade furniture manufacturing business in London, England.
The company gained widespread recognition after being selected as a representative British design at a furniture exhibition held in New York in 1954. Since then, it has developed into one of the leading furniture manufacturers of British mid-century design, alongside companies like E.GOMME's G-PLAN.
Furniture made by Nathan, which is highly popular in Japan, is rare and scarce even overseas. We recommend this piece not only to collectors but also to those who appreciate mid-century furniture.
This item is perfect for use as a storage cabinet in the kitchen or living room, as a TV stand, a display shelf for your favorite small items, or for storing groceries and linens.
With its timeless, simple design, teak furniture blends well with Japanese homes. Just imagining the various ways you can use it brings joy.
It would be wonderful to use this as shop display furniture, or to create a scene reminiscent of European films or interior design magazines by combining it with antique furniture in your everyday space. It would also be interesting to pair it with modern furniture.
Please note that there are signs of age-related wear, including dirt, scratches, rust, cracks, peeling, and stains.
We ask for your understanding of these conditions before making a purchase.
