Gleditsia/Gleditsia japonica Leguminosae Caesalpinioideae Gleditsia genus Species Pods approx. 1kg Until the 16th

We have collected Gleditsia fruits that emerged as the snow melted. These have been dried in fresh water for about 3 days. Please note that some pods may still have fallen leaves attached.

As these are natural items, there will be variations in shape and size. Please understand this in advance.

Gleditsia pods contain saponins, which create foam when soaked in water and rubbed. This natural surfactant dissolves and acts like soap, removing dirt. Therefore, they have been used in households since ancient times, and were widely used as a substitute for soap, especially during wartime when resources were scarce.
