【Pre-War Vintage】Bird-Shaped White Porcelain Flower Arranger Ornament

This is a white porcelain flower frog.
It is said to be from around the pre-war period.

A flower frog is a type of floral arrangement tool used to support flowers and prevent them from moving.
I have seen butterfly-shaped flower frogs several times before, but this is the first time I've seen one shaped like a bird.
It features a smooth glaze, signs of old manufacturing, and a distinctive reddish hue in places.

It can be used as a flower frog as is, or it could be interesting to hang on a wall or use as a pen holder.
It stands upright vertically, so it can also be used as a paperweight.
