**About Olive Wood**
Olive wood, nurtured by the abundant Mediterranean sun, grows slowly, taking hundreds of years to become a large tree. This results in a dense, hard wood that is resistant to scratches. Apply olive oil when the color changes. This is a product that can be used for a long time.
In North Africa, olive trees are considered sacred trees of immortality, living for nearly 1000 years.
*Olive wood has been used as kitchenware in Europe since ancient times.
It has natural antibacterial properties, is resistant to mold, and drains water well. It is hard, impact-resistant, and durable. The surface is finished smoothly for a wonderful tactile feel that fits perfectly in your hand.
**Precautions for Use**
Olive wood has natural antibacterial properties, so chlorine-based bleaches are not necessary.
Use it the same way as general wooden kitchenware. After using it like your regular dishes, wash off any residue with a mild detergent as soon as possible.
Avoid using a dishwasher. Prolonged soaking in water followed by extreme drying and heating can cause cracking, warping, and splitting.
The product is finished with edible salad oil, so please wash it with dish soap before use. After washing, the surface oil will be removed, revealing the naturally pale wood grain of the olive.
After washing, quickly wipe off moisture and store in a well-ventilated area. Periodically rubbing the surface with a soft cloth and plant-based oil will enhance its flavor and longevity. Applying oil during long-term storage will also prevent excessive drying.
*As shown in the photos, due to the nature of wood from ancient trees over 400 years old, each olive wood product will have unique grain patterns, knots, and variations in color.
Furthermore, there may be minor scratches, subtle surface irregularities, polishing marks, or signs of insect activity. These are not considered defects, so please understand this before making your purchase.
