Japanese Honeybee Attractant Liquid Approx. 500ml ★ Beeswax Approx. 100g ☆ Hive Debris Approx. 100g ☆ With Instructions 3
Thank you for viewing. This set includes approximately 500ml of Japanese honeybee attractant, with a bonus of approximately 100g of beeswax and approximately 100g of hive debris, along with instructions.
☆ Last year, we set up 30 waiting hive boxes. 21 boxes were naturally occupied, and 5 were captured by forced trapping, for a total of 26 boxes captured.
By applying beeswax to the entrance and ceiling of the hive box for capturing Japanese honeybees, and spraying or brushing the attractant, you can increase the probability of capturing swarming or wild colonies of Japanese honeybees.
If there is a Japanese honeybee nest near the hive box you are using for capture, spraying the attractant will guide scout bees to your location with its scent.
Tips for capturing Japanese honeybees:
☆ 1. Proper placement of the hive box.
If you are not getting any occupants, changing the location can lead to immediate capture. Site selection is crucial.
☆ 2. Creating a hive box that scout bees will like.
New hive boxes are difficult to get occupants even with Golden-Plum or artificial attractants. Therefore, apply beeswax to the entrance and the inner ceiling of the hive box, and then brush the secret attractant inside the hive box.
Japanese honeybees prefer previously used accommodations. Applying beeswax and attractant makes the hive box appealing to scout bees.
Furthermore, using it in conjunction with Kinryouhen (Orchid Bee Orchid) can further increase your capture probability.
When using the attractant as a spray, it has been filtered, but the nozzle may become clogged. Please clean the nozzle or dilute it with cloth or a brush for application.
Also, during the capture season, dilute the attractant with water about 3 times and spray it around the hive box. Scout bees will be drawn by the scent.
Be aware that if the attractant is applied too thickly and not allowed to dry sufficiently, it can lead to mold growth or attract ants.
If you will not be using the product immediately upon arrival, please store it in the freezer. Storing it at room temperature can lead to mold growth or fermentation. When using, thaw it, take out the amount you need, and if you freeze the remainder, it can be used until around autumn.
★ Instructions on how to apply the attractant and beeswax, and examples of hive box placement with high occupancy are included.
