Hornet Live Trap 3 Pieces
Hornet Trap - Set of 3
Dimensions per unit:
Height: 25 cm, Width: 27 cm, Depth: 24 cm
This hornet trap is designed to protect Japanese honeybee hives from large hornets that attack from summer to late autumn.
Two methods of use:
1. Place it to cover the entrance of your tiered hive. It will automatically capture attacking hornets attracted by the scent of honey from the hive entrance.
2. Application:
Set it to cover a container filled with honey, hive debris, sugar water, etc.
Hornets entering the trap with food will be captured.
The structure utilizes the habit of hornets carrying food; they will enter through the two holes, attracted by the light, and cannot escape through the netting.
Once captured, remove them with tweezers from the drawer-like opening and soak them in shochu (Japanese liquor) or similar. Leaving them in the trap risks the escape of your honeybees.
If you do not wish to keep them alive:
Dispose of them promptly by submerging the entire unit in water, or by using a burner for incineration.
For your amusement:
Occasionally, hawk moths, praying mantises, katydids, spiders, and other insects may also be attracted by the scent of honey and enter, but this is not an issue.
