40-Year-Old Aged Paper for Calligraphy
Thank you for viewing.
This is calligraphy paper that my grandfather purchased over 40 years ago and has been stored at home for a long time.
This item was opened and stored carelessly in a cardboard box, and has numerous stains and spots.
The number of sheets has not been counted.
■ Value of 40-Year-Old Paper
This paper is over 40 years old since its manufacture, and is in a state of what is called old paper (kogami). It is expected that compared to new paper, excess moisture and impurities have been removed, making the ink absorption softer and more likely to produce beautiful bleeding and fading.
This is especially recommended for those looking for the writing feel unique to aged paper.
■ Condition
The wrapping paper has tears, wrinkles, and dirt due to age.
Upon inspection of the contents, there are many severe deteriorations and noticeable stains, but it is considered to be in relatively good condition for a 40-year-old item.
Overall, there is natural yellowing (aging) characteristic of old paper, but this is a feature that calligraphers often prefer as it holds ink well.
■ Important Notes Before Purchasing
We cannot confirm the condition of all the paper inside.
Please understand that this is an old item from 40 years ago. Due to its poor condition, please check the images and purchase with your understanding.
It will be shipped in a waterproof plastic bag, in its original wrapping paper.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Thank you.
