Midanbako Zelkova Wood - Clothing Tray, Yukata Holder, Showa Retro

This is a clothing tray, also known as a Midanbako, from the Marujyu Utage series, which features beautiful wood grain.

The beautiful wood grain deeply moved me. I purchased this as a souvenir during a trip to Kyoto about 10 years ago. Please understand that this is a home-stored item before purchasing.

Features and Main Uses:
Rectangular wooden products with deep edges, like those shown in the images, are primarily used for the following purposes:

Serving (Tray): Marujyu Utage Kakubon (square trays) are popular for serving Japanese meals or as square plates for arranging dishes on a table.

Organization and Storage (Document Box, Midanbako): Similar shapes are also used as Fubako (document boxes) for storing papers or as Midanbako (clothing trays) for temporarily holding discarded clothing.
