Italian-made, claw-foot, 5-drawer chest, 1 item
Handmade, luxury furniture
Vintage, antique
Used item
Long-term storage item
Dimensions are approximate
Height: 94cm
Top surface: Width 52cm
Length: Max 35.4cm
Drawer width: 39cm
Length: 24.8-26.5cm
Height: 11.8cm
Purchased about 25 years ago at an Italian furniture store. Has a stamp.
This is a solid, well-made, handmade chest.
It has a reddish-brown impression overall, more so than the close-up photos.
Photos 1 and 2 show the color closest to the actual item.
The color variations are due to light reflection.
There are many scratches and stains.
The pattern of a resin mat that was temporarily placed on the top surface, along with gold powder, has transferred to it.
The inside of the drawers also has many stains and scratches.
A transparent vinyl sheet was partially placed inside to prevent stains, but due to age and summer heat, the resin seems to have peeled off or transferred. It is not sticky.
The drawer used for stationery has marks from ink clumps. Some of the stains were removed by wiping with a sticker remover. Wiping with thinner might remove other stains and transferred resin, but it might also remove the original gloss, so I have not tried it.
The metal parts of the handles have discoloration due to age.
If you place cloth mats or shelf liners on the top surface and drawer bottoms, you should be able to use it without noticing these issues.
Despite the aforementioned flaws, the exterior impression is not too bad considering its age and use.
Please forgive any unevenness in the paint or remaining dust from the manufacturing process.
Immediate purchase OK ??
