Gen Hoshino Essay: Working Man

For those who work too hard. For those who don't work enough. This book is by Gen Hoshino, who has worn many hats as a musician, actor, and writer, reflecting on and explaining his work during a period of overwork. It includes film essay series, short stories, explanations of his own songs, lyrics with handwritten chords, behind-the-scenes of his acting roles, and his thoughts on making things = work. Everything is packed in, 120% full of both silliness and seriousness! In a way, it's a strategy guide to the working man, Gen Hoshino. Why is Gen Hoshino so popular? Reading this book will reveal the reasons he captures people's hearts. For the paperback edition, a new foreword A Man Who Doesn't Want to Work That Much Right Now (Tentative) reflecting his current feelings about work, and a special talk with Akutagawa Prize-winning author Naoki Matayoshi, A Conversation About Work Between Two Working Men (Tentative) are included.
