Purchased new from a percussion specialty store in Tokyo.
Although it is a used item, I believe its condition is not much different from when it was purchased new.

I played it with felt-wrapped, yarn-wrapped, and cotton-thread-wrapped mallets. I did not use hard mallets made of metal or plastic.

For your reference, I have included an image showing the pitch measured with a tuner.
As is characteristic of the instrument, it contains many overtones, and the pitch is not as precise as that of a keyboard instrument.
To the ear, it sounds close to the intended pitch.
