◇About the Creator◇
We sell handmade shinobue flutes made by a father and daughter who have been teaching shinobue for about 25 years in Shimane Prefecture and are flute artisans. We craft shinobue and kagurabue flutes from female bamboo (shin bamboo) harvested from the Shizuma River (formerly Ginzan River), dried for over 3 years.

◇Tuning◇
The flute is tuned to Western scale 440Hz, with the higher octave (2nd octave) matched to a tuner. This allows for ensemble playing and playing with other instruments.
The tuning allows for the production of notes in the 1st octave (Ro-on), 2nd octave (Ko-on), and up to the 3rd octave (Dai-ko-on) by adjusting breath strength.

○ Material: Shin bamboo (female bamboo) (dried for over 3 years, then heat-treated)
○ Holes: Inner surface coated with synthetic azuki bean color lacquer (Cajeput)
○ Outer surface: Coated with synthetic black lacquer (Cajeput)
○ Winding thread: Light brown

◇Description◇
16g of lead is inserted inside the head of the flute to ensure stability.
The reflector at the embouchure hole is made with wood putty to prevent melting even in summer heat.
Transparent lacquer (Cajeput) is applied to the winding thread, making it beautiful and durable.
