FOCUSRITE ISA 428 Microphone Preamplifier [Early Model]
FOCUSRITE ISA 428 Microphone Preamplifier - Early Model
Overhauled
A 4-channel mic preamp inheriting the traditional ISA sound.
This is an early model with VU meters.
Extremely rare.
There is a crack on the window of the 1st channel meter where a cable connector hit it. There are some minor scratches and signs of use, but the lights illuminate, there is no major damage, and all channels are operating well.
It was mainly used for drum recording.
The recorded sound is moist and has a thick quality.
It's somewhere between SSL and Neve, perhaps.
It amplifies sound mildly without any particular character, making it very easy to use.
It was very useful for vocals, acoustic guitar, drum recording, and re-tracking from a DAW.
This unit is being sold as part of a studio equipment upgrade to introduce a new preamplifier.
