DENON CD Player DCD-1650SR Serviced, Working Condition, 2003 Model, S/N 867

The power transformer is mounted in a resin-floated transformer base within a cast trunk case, shared with the higher-end model DCD-S10IIIL, to cut low-frequency noise (see image 14). This popular model features AL24 Processing technology and uses Burr-Brown's 24-bit DAC (PCM1704), demonstrating a commitment to sound quality. As this is a mid-production DCD-1650SR, there are some minor scuffs on the top surface, but the overall condition is good.

For this listing, the pickup lens, although still functional, has been replaced with a new one, and silicone grease has been applied to the sliding parts. The rubber belt for tray opening/closing, the rocker switch, and the overcurrent protection element, all common causes of tray issues, have also been replaced with new parts.
To address the common issue with the DCD-1650SR where the DAC on the L-channel can fail due to its own heat, heatsinks have been attached to the DACs on both channels (see images 15-16). *These were not installed from new, so they do not guarantee prevention of DAC degradation. If the DAC fails, there will be no output on one or both channels when using analog connections. Additionally, the underside of the circuit board was inspected for solder cracks using a magnifying glass. Low-viscosity, high-grade synthetic oil has also been applied to the oil-impregnated bearings of each motor output shaft.

Playback has been confirmed to be free of issues on both channels via analog RCA and digital OPTICAL outputs. Static noise in the PHONES output has been cleaned.

Included accessories:

* Replacement remote control RC-253 (new. Batteries not included.) The volume buttons, not present on the RC-281, cannot be used.
