Taro seed tubers (red stem variety), approximately 2kg including box weight
Harvested from my family's farm last autumn.
The 6 taro roots on the left in the first image are the larger parent roots. The 2 on the right are slightly smaller. My family does not use any pesticides, so you can grow them with peace of mind. Last year, I tried planting taro. Although it was a small space, the stems grew to about my height. I dug them up in mid-November, so there were many small tubers attached, but I was a little disappointed that I didn't dig them up around December when the small tubers would have been more substantial. I'm thinking of harvesting this year's crop around the end of the year. Taro requires mounding soil and watering, which takes time, but you are guaranteed a harvest, so why not enjoy growing them for half a year?
Taro planting begins around April.
