These are intentionally thick pins.
The purpose is to use these for sockets that have become loose due to repeated insertion/removal of DIP components on a circuit board, even with standard 8-pin DIPs. The thickness of the pins is almost the same as standard 8-pin DIPs.

This is a 1-circuit to 2-circuit conversion board for operational amplifiers. It allows you to wire two single-circuit operational amplifiers to match the pin configuration of a dual-circuit operational amplifier, making them interchangeable with dual-circuit operational amplifiers. The connecting pins are gold-plated.
