Antique 19th-Century Pewter/Britannia Ware Tea or Coffee Pot
Antique Pewter / Britannia Ware Tea or Coffee Pot – Ornate Victorian-Style Hollowware Beautiful antique metal tea or coffee pot with an elaborate, highly decorative design. The piece has a substantial presence with an ornate hinged lid, decorative finial, long curved spout, and an especially detailed beaded/serrated handle. The metal has developed a wonderful aged gray patina consistent with antique pewter/Britannia-type ware. I have intentionally left the aged surface intact rather than heavily polishing it. The underside carries a very worn stamped maker's mark. Portions of the mark appear to include letters resembling “T. M…YALL”, but the impression is too worn to confidently identify the maker. There is also a separate number/mark on the underside. Details: Approximately 9½ tall Approximately 8½–9 from back of handle to tip of spout Hinged lid Ornate decorative handle and finial Long curved spout Aged gray/silvery patina Worn maker's mark to underside Appears to be pewter/Britannia ware Wonderful antique decorative and collector appeal Condition: Pre-owned antique condition with substantial age-related wear, oxidation/patina, surface variation and imperfections. The maker's mark is quite worn. The interior also shows age and oxidation. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are considered part of the description. A wonderful piece for an antique pewter collection, Victorian-inspired display, tea room, traditional kitchen, or simply as an unusual decor antique
