This item has been used for about 4 years since purchase.
Scratches and dirt are noticeable.
The scratches on the side of the main unit were caused when removing adhesive from the USB port.
The dirt on the top is from where vinyl tape was used to cover the indicator lights, as they interfered with sleep.
