Middle Eastern Style Brass Enamelware Collection — 3 Pieces — Floral & Geometric
Color is the first thing you notice. Then the pattern — and then you realize the pattern goes everywhere. This three-piece brass enamelware collection works in the decorative tradition of Middle Eastern, Indian, and Persian craft — floral scrollwork and geometric motifs covering every surface in red, blue, green, gold, and black. Each piece is its own complete thing, but together they read as a collection, a considered grouping with a shared visual language and a shared sense of where they came from. The set includes three pieces: a footed lidded bowl (approximately 4 H x 3 W), a decorative tray or dish (approximately 7 diameter x 2 H), and a tall decorative bottle (approximately 15 H) that was originally designed as an incense burner. I want to be straightforward about the bottle before anything else: it is missing its top component and has a hole in the bottom. It is sold as a decorative piece only — not functional as a burner — and is priced and presented accordingly. I have photographed the missing top and the hole clearly so you can assess for yourself. The footed bowl and tray are in good condition with some wear and enamel loss in places consistent with age and use. The colors remain rich and present throughout — this is a collection that has been lived with, and it shows in the best ways as much as the honest ones.
