Central Asian Instrument - Dutar - Two-Stringed Lute

This is a dutar, a two-stringed instrument from Central Asia.
I purchased it in Urumqi over 30 years ago.
I was captivated by its sound and bought it on impulse, but I had no one to teach me how to play, so it ended up gathering dust in the back of a closet.
The instrument itself has no scratches or dirt, but the case has rusted metal fittings and some peeling.
I would be grateful if someone could play it or use it as an interior decoration.
