Yasuo Abe 65D (Solid Top)

This guitar is a standard model from the Abe Gut series, supervised by performer Yasuo Abe, which was released around 1970.

Zen-On received technical guidance from leading classical guitar makers such as Hanso Nakade and Tsunesaburo Kurosawa from around 1960 and also sold supervised models.

In the late 1960s, utilizing the techniques inherited from Tsunesaburo Kurosawa and others, Zen-On launched the Craftsman Series led by Toshihiko HOKKAWA.
Woodworkers also put their names forward as craftsmen and sold these as reasonably priced handmade instruments.

The guitar being offered is a reasonably priced model for the general public, finished on the factory line, with a similar construction (solid top, rosewood laminate).
It is constructed using a method without binding, and the nut is a three-stage molded plastic part. However, in essence, it has similar instrument performance, making it a more cost-effective model.
(Furthermore, the higher-end Abe handmade models from around 1977 reached a level comparable to other craftsmen.)

In addition, this particular instrument uses what appears to be Madagascar rosewood, similar to jacaranda, for the rosewood laminate, and I feel it produces a powerful sound.

This is the 650mm scale basic model from the series, set up from the performer's perspective by Yasuo Abe.
