Unprocessed endpin jack that can be attached to an acoustic guitar. Material: Micarta. New.
Unprocessed endpin jack that can be attached to acoustic guitars. THE VINTAGE JACK, made of Micarta, brand new and unused.
Photo 1 shows a different unit I installed as a reference; the guitar is not for sale.
Made in the USA, patent pending product. Shop reference retail price around 30,000 yen.
Standard endpin jacks are about 12mm in diameter, so for acoustic guitars, you need to widen the endpin hole. However, if you don't want to enlarge the hole on expensive or vintage guitars, this product is useful. (Photo 4 is for reference; Martin endpin and 12mm jack are not for sale.)
Simply remove the endpin and replace it, allowing for installation of an endpin jack with almost no modification. The output terminal is a 3.5mm mini plug. Many wireless systems nowadays use mini plugs. (Photo 5 LEKATO wireless system with mini plug is for reference and not for sale.)
This is ideal for Martin guitars. The material around the jack is Micarta, making it a perfect fit for D-28 and higher models.
The diameter of a Martin endpin hole is approximately 8mm, but THE VINTAGE JACK is 8.5mm. While you can shave it down to fit, we include a 5mm thick felt pad for installation without modification. (Photo 6)
Please use rosin powder for grip if necessary. Includes standard conversion plug.
There is no original instruction manual, so here is a wiring explanation.
Two sets of cables are included, allowing you to install two pickups simultaneously. However, balance can only be achieved if they are both passive or both active and of the same type.
If you are installing only one pickup, connect it to the cable labeled mono. The black wire is the ground wire and is optional.
For your reference, I installed an L.R. BAGGS iBeam Passive on my Martin D-28 (Photo 10 pickup not for sale). I soldered it to mono and did not connect the ground, but the sound was clear with no noise.
Also, this product cannot be used with active original jacks that have a switch for power. While I mentioned it's ideal for Martin guitars, you can achieve a beautiful, natural sound close to the original with passive pickups. If you also have a preamp, you can achieve the ultimate Martin sound.
Thank you for your consideration.
