Since its establishment, Koiwai Tsumugi Kobo has been weaving exclusively by hand.
Because it is a traditional craft, there is a philosophy passed down through generations to use traditional methods (hand-weaving).
At first glance, it's difficult to tell the difference between hand-woven and machine-woven fabrics, but you'll understand the difference when you wear them as a kimono.
Hand-woven kimonos become softer and more supple the more you wear them, and they feel comfortable against the body. This is a texture that cannot be expressed by machine weaving.
