ꕤ︎︎ Izanagi Shrine ꕤ︎︎ Lacquerware Bowl Dish Izanagi Vermilion Red Black
☆ Brand New, Unused ☆
Lacquerware
This is a lacquerware plate received as a thank-you gift from Izanagi Shrine, the oldest shrine on Awaji Island, which is associated with the myth of the creation of Japan in Hyogo Prefecture.
The front is vermilion (red) and the back is black. It is thick, and the back surface, in particular, has a beautiful mirror-like finish with a glossy sheen that reflects the surrounding scenery.
The lacquerware itself is beautiful as it is new and unused, but the box and the wrapping paper (kaishi) have yellowed with age, which is typical of paper.
As this is a lacquerware item received from a shrine, we hope you will use it for tea ceremonies or celebrations.
