Sakurai Lacquerware, Tokuraya Lacquerware Shop, Wooden Genuine Lacquer Coating, Craftsman Maki-e, Made by Shūhō Watanabe, With Lid, Document Box
This is a lacquered document box from Sakurai Urushi, received as a gift in 1993. It is a work by Shuho Watanabe, a traditional maki-e artist.
The wrapping paper and outer box have age-related stains (Photos 15-17), but the item itself is in beautiful condition as it has been stored in a warehouse unused. (Although unused, it is not new, so it is listed as near mint condition).
Dimensions (approximate): 33cm x 24cm x 12cm
It can conveniently store A4-sized documents with about 1cm of space to spare (Photo 12).
The name of the recipient and the date are written on the instruction manual (Photo 13).
Please consider purchasing after understanding that this is a long-term home storage item.
