Antique Bobbin Lace Frame Canivet Holy Mother Card & Holy Family Set of 2
③ The Holy Family is sold out ✧
This is a 4-piece set featuring a beautiful antique Belgian linen bobbin lace frame, two antique and vintage holy cards, and linen fabric for framing.
① Canivet / Virgin Mary, a Girl, and Angels
12.5 cm x 8.2 cm
In the altar scene, Mary presents a lily to a girl, while six child angels smile. Their faces and expressions are exquisite.
A holy card from the late 19th to early 20th century Paris, characterized by its delicate painting and lace.
While there are some minor damages, such as missing parts, in a few places along the lace border, the fine monochrome line drawings, stippling, delicate cross-hatching, and the openwork canivet lace are beautiful.
② Holy Family's Journey Card
23.8 cm x 14.6 cm
Depicts John, Mary, and Jesus Christ on their journey to Egypt. All their faces are beautiful and noble. The deep indigo night sky with twinkling stars, and the shaded gold leaf and gold lines are stunning.
There is writing on the left side of the open card.
※ Sold out ③ Holy Family Celebrating the Birth of Jesus Card
21.5 cm x 14 cm, vintage American-made
A warm depiction of Christmas joy, with John and Mary gently gazing at the newborn Jesus Christ in a straw-filled manger, covering him with a red cloth. The frame of roses and holly berries is also festive.
The inside is also lovely and charming.
A scene of two sheep on a hill looking up at a star shining above the town (symbolizing the announcement of the Savior's birth). The sheep and buildings are embossed and slightly raised.
There is pencil writing in the bottom corner of the inside.
④ Belgian Bobbin Lace Frame
Outer frame: 30 cm x 22 cm
Inner frame: 22 cm x 13.5 cm
Antique handmade bobbin lace from Bruges, a canal city in Belgium.
A continuous pattern of house-like motifs. Between the houses, trees and small flowers are woven.
If they are houses, the doors seem to face alternating directions.
They can also be interpreted as elephants or birds.
Slightly darker antique ivory, gentle light beige tones.
Made of smooth, natural linen, the threads have a good body and stiffness.
There are a few faint brown spots that are not noticeable.
Home cleaned.
⑤ Light Blue Linen Cloth
38 cm x 32-31 cm
Modern Japanese linen fabric, soft and smooth, medium thickness.
For those who love it!
A versatile and beautiful lace frame that complements paintings, photographs, objects, embroidery, and more.
