Antique Madonna and Child with Saint Lenticular Cherry Blossom Charm Necklace with Leather Cord
A necklace set featuring a charm and leather cord, with a beautiful engraving on a pale pink frame. This is an antique/vintage lenticular piece purchased from a specialist in religious art from Belgium.
It features a serene image of the smiling Virgin Mary holding the infant Jesus Christ, crowned and radiating a halo, alongside a depiction of a saint. These chic, monochrome photographic images transform as you change your viewing angle.
The frame appears to be made of transparent/translucent plastic in a cherry blossom or mauve pink hue. The outer edge has diagonal lines, with thin grooves running horizontally, and charming asterisk engravings at each corner.
Lenticular technology is characterized by the way two images or photographs switch (gradually) or transition as you change your viewing angle, creating a sense of movement and change. Lenticular printing is used not only for paintings but also for general printed materials, giving them a mysterious and wondrous feel.
The pale natural beige vegetable-tanned leather cord is made of genuine leather and is brand new. It would also look beautiful paired with gold or silver chains or lace ribbons.

As this is an old piece, there are several scratches, like those made by a needle, on the front where the image is housed. The most noticeable appear to be on the saint's left cheek and along the line from the Virgin and Child's left head down to the neck. This is for those who do not mind such imperfections.
The faint blackish-grey dirt within the grooves will be removed as much as possible. While there may be minor scratches upon close inspection, the back and sides are also beautiful.
While not precious metal, I personally found this piece to be very rare and beautiful.
It would also be lovely to display it in your room – on a wall, by a window, on a dresser, etc. – and enjoy gazing at it ✛
I also recommend attaching a photo to the back.
