Antique Point de Venise Lace Doily & Aroma Oil Pot - Unused Set
A set of two items: an antique Italian linen Point de Venise lace doily with a rose motif, and a ceramic aroma oil pot/oil burner.
The ceramic pot has a beautiful, mystical blend of purple, pink, and blue tones with a matte, natural finish. Fill the top dish with water, place a candle inside the pot to light it, and once the water is warm, add a few drops of aroma oil. The flickering flame will be visible through the pot's cutouts, and the aroma will drift and spread from the top dish. This item was received as a gift nearly 20 years ago and has been displayed but is unused.
If you need candles, please let me know, and I will search for unused ones I believe I have.
The bobbin lace, Venetian needlework, is a creation from Venice. It's possible that designs were later imitated and produced in places like Belgium.
Intricately woven with light beige linen thread, featuring large roses. The entire trim is elegantly surrounded by scalloped petal cutouts.
This beautiful and substantial lace uses the fisherman's net technique, with variations in tightness and looseness of the linen thread, and bridges across spaces, all hand-worked.
The fine net pattern, meticulously knitted stitch by stitch with a needle, has greater strength compared to other lace works.
The color is a gentle, soft, and elegant shade, reminiscent of milk tea or café au lait, with a subtle pinkish hue. It resembles the calm and chic colors of naturally dyed plant-based threads, and seems to blend well with modern homes, decor, and interiors.
It possesses a warmth unique to handmade items, unlike machine-made products.

It can be used as an object on cabinets or chests, under dolls, or as a base for sugar and creamers or vases during tea time.
