Nambu Tekki (Cast Iron) Ash Rake with Horse Sculpture, Iron Craft, Shuzen-do
This is a Nambu ironware ash rake. It is an authentic item purchased from a specialty store.
It features a horse design on the front and a landscape with a tree resembling a pine on the back.
The textured design, with its raised elements, creates a dynamic and cool impression of the horse.
You can feel the unique weight of Nambu ironware.
I really liked it, but I'm selling it because I no longer have a hibachi (charcoal brazier).
It was used daily for about 10 years with kunugi (oak) ash in my home hibachi, and has since been stored at home.
No noticeable rust is visible, but there is a faint brownish-red discoloration on the handle area (on the landscape side) (photos included).
There are signs of use.
A slight warp can be seen on the tip of the blade.
Some ash is adhered and cannot be completely removed.
[The Charm of Nambu Ironware]
Nambu ironware is a traditional Japanese casting, known for its beauty and durability.
I believe it will develop a charming patina with continued use.
[Other]
The original box and instruction manual are also included. The box has scuffs, some dirt, and a wavy, softened area on the back (refer to photos).
