Cute narrow-sleeved kasuri pull-on, boro, old fabric remake, material, handmade
This is a rare vintage Kasuri (ikat-woven fabric) Michiyuki coat. Originally, it was worn as an outer layer over formal kimonos such as Tomesode or Homongi, but when made with Kasuri, it becomes casual wear. I purchased this for making clothes, and the material has good thread strength and still retains its crispness. Since I don't make many Kasuri clothes anymore, I'm listing it for sale, but it's in good condition and can be worn as is. Since it's already shaped as a coat, you can easily remake it into a dress or coat by narrowing the sleeves. [To wear as is] Michiyuki coats are characterized by their square collar shape, resembling a picture frame, and are also called kaku-eri (square collar). The neckline opens wide, making it suitable for layering. It fastens at the front with snap buttons, which can hide the obi. There are no noticeable damages such as stains or tears. It is in a wearable condition as a vintage kimono. ★ As this is made from old fabric, there may be unnoticeable fading, stains, snags, small holes, etc. Please only purchase if you understand and appreciate antique fabrics.
