This is Ikuo Hirayama's Moonlight Itabau-Utsushi Yuzen Dye.
While woodblock prints are common, this product is a rare Itabau-Utsushi Yuzen Dye.
The size is approximately 77cm in height and 93cm in width.
Itabau-Utsushi Yuzen (板場写友禅) is a Katamiyuzen (stencil dyeing) technique where white fabric is stretched onto a Yuzen board (approximately 6-7 meters long) and patterns are precisely dyed using stencils. This Itanbari (one-roll stretching) method, where an entire bolt of fabric is attached to the board without cutting, is a traditional dyeing technique that harmonizes handwork and stencil dyeing, primarily developed after the Meiji era amidst mechanization and efficiency improvements.
