3-layer GORE-TEX material.
Many major manufacturers are now using fluorine-free water repellents for environmental reasons. However, this product uses a fluorine-based water repellent, which is generally said to offer high durability and strong water repellency.
The outer layer is polyester, the middle layer is the GORE-TEX membrane ePTFE, and the inner layer is nylon, all bonded together. Unlike polyurethane, it does not show signs of degradation quickly over time. As long as the fabric doesn't tear, it will degrade very little over time. If you wash it regularly at home and then reapply a GORE-TEX specific water repellent (like Nikwax), you can use it for a long time.
