Kazuhiko Kanazawa Copperplate Print "Errand"

US Size:

This is a copperplate etching titled Otsukai by Kazuhiko Kanazawa, a printmaker from Hokkaido.
It is likely hand-signed with the edition number, title, and signature written from left to right at the bottom.

It was mixed in with many of my mother's self-made watercolor paintings that she asked me to dispose of. However, there was one etching with a different touch and a signature, which I identified using Google Lens.
While I cannot guarantee its authenticity, the signature and touch suggest it is genuine. My mother attended classes by Mr. Hiroyumi Kishimoto, a painter also from Hokkaido, so I believe she either received it through some connection or simply purchased it at exhibitions she attended at the time.

The subject matter is very lovely, depicting sisters going on an errand together under one umbrella.
The taller one might be their mother, but I interpreted them as sisters because of the title Otsukai (errand).
If so, my mother might have associated them with her two granddaughters, who were still young at the time.

There are signs of age, such as tape residue from framing on several parts of the back. Since I do not know its value, I will be selling it via auction.
