For Retro Toon Only (Yoto Muramasa) Replica Handle. Ikkaku Leather Wrap, Iron Tsuba, Wavy Double-Tempered Blade
Iai Higo Koshirae Replica Sword
(Unused Custom Order) Thin Blade Construction
This sword is a replica of the cursed sword Muramasa.
Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price: ¥97,000~
Discounted Price: ¥75,000
Muramasa, like Tōdōgō, was historically produced for practical combat. Despite its fame comparable to Masamune, it has never been designated as a National Treasure or Important Cultural Property.
However, in the early Edo period, stories of it being a blood-drinking cursed sword and a sword feared by the Tokugawa clan spread, leading to a constant demand for Muramasa from samurai and daimyo due to its mystique and charisma.
This sword features a sand-cast blade and a leather-wrapped hilt, offering excellent balance and a superb hizunari (sound of the blade). The blade is thin and measures 2 shaku 4 sun 5 bu (approx. 74.2 cm), yet it doesn't feel heavy, a testament to its quality from Mino Seki City.
It is suitable for high-ranking iaido practitioners or for display.
We encourage you to add this piece to your collection.
Please note that while this sword is unused, there may be very minor scuffs that are difficult to see in the images. Please understand that this is a pre-owned item before purchasing.
