This sageo (sword knot) is meticulously crafted by an author with 15 years of Iaido experience, using Sanada-himo.
This product utilizes Kaga-nishiki Sanada-himo, a specialty of the long-established Kanazawa workshop, Ori-moto Sumiya. It boasts a silk-like texture and sweat-resistant durability, and each piece is hand-finished into a sageo.
The length is a standard 240 cm for Japanese swords and Iai swords, with a width of 1.2 cm.
As it is made from high-quality Sanada-himo, you can also cut it to your desired length for use as an obi-jime (sash cord) or for handmade crafts. Some customers also use it as a chizome (blood stopper) for portable shrines.
It can be easily threaded through most kurigata (pommel knobs) without snagging. Please note that there may be slight variations in length due to the manufacturing process.
*For Tanto (short swords) and Wakizashi (medium swords), the length can be shortened. Please let us know in the comments section if you wish to do so.
The color and pattern are designed to complement any sword guard or scabbard. Please note that the appearance may vary slightly depending on your screen settings and brightness. We also ask for your understanding that this is a handmade item.
